    Default Visconti nib exchange?

    Hello Everyone and Visconti experts,

I'm intending to purchase a Visconti opera elements amber edition fine nib. I'm just wondering if the visconti nibs can be swapped with a medium or broad nib?

Thank you for reading this far,
    Fez

Yes. On the full-size pens the nib unit is threaded and can be removed and replaced. On the mid-size pens it's a friction fit (very tight). Full-size are a #6 nib, mid-size are a #5 nib.

You can try the want to buy / trade forum here to see if someone has a nib they'd like to exchange with you. Your other options are to contact a Visconti vendor to see if they can swap the nib. I know in the USA the vendors don't stock extra Visconti nibs. You'd need to contact Coles of London (importer/distributor) to facilitate purchasing a new nib unit ($360) or mailing them your pen and having them swap the nib ($80). If you're outside the USA I don't know who you can contact for a nib swap / replacement.
