    Default Blues and Blue-Blacks

    Poor photo quality...sorry about that.

Writing samples were done using a "Ta-tung 717" FP, unless stated otherwise.

Writing samples were done with a 0.7mm loose FP nib in a dip pen holder, dipped in the inks. The photo looks pretty accurate on me screen, but ymmv.

Paper used is Rhodia #16 graph.

And here is the water resistance test. I soaked the section on the left in water for 10 minutes, and water droplets were flicked onto the section on the right.

Nice to see comparisons of a load of inks in my favourite colour range.

Try Noodler's Midnight Blue or Diamine Twilight. Both excellent entries in this category

Mmm blues, my favourite colour of all time. Thanks for doing this. Now I have an idea of what blues I want to buy (been avoiding buying blues in favour of other colours, variety you know)

I have Diamine Twilight, but unfortunately, it's back in Melbourne. I've only really started getting into Blue-Blacks in the past few months.

I've done a water resistance test, and will upload it soon.

Very useful. Thanks. The Pilot & Platinum BBs look interesting to me. I have Twilight, too. It has a hint of teal in it. I never liked it when other BBs dried teal-ish, but Diamine Twilight is attractive.

I plan on doing a more complete set of scans when I get back to Australia in about 2 months time. Hopefully I'll be able to take all the ink I've purchased back with me...I've noticed that Iroshizuku Tsuki Yo bears a resemblence to Diamine Twilight, and can't wait to compare the two.

Thanks. Another blue-black fan here. How does Salix compare to Pelikan BB in terms of flow?
    Cheers

In my experience, I find Salix to be drier than Pelikan blue black. The Salix does better on cheap (20 lb) copy paper.

I agree. Salix is the drier ink, but both flow just enough, so I don't feel like it's too stingy. I don't enjoy using Salix in EF (Japanese Fine) nibs, though. It does tend to increase the feedback.
