After getting my Sailor Pro Gear Slim, I thought I was good for a bit. And then I got a Preppy. Followed up by a Conklin Duragraph Orange Nights (poor man’s Delta Dolcevita).

Now I’m gunning for a Lamy 2000 in makrolon with either a fine or extra fine bib.

My next pen was one I planned to make: a dip pen in walnut and brass.

However it is ridiculously unbalanced, just as I feared.

So my next pen will attempt to correct this flaw, either by lining a thin brass tube with a lighter material, or by using aluminum for the section, or by using brass only for a trim ring and making a plastic / resin section.

I have ordered a proper tool rest for the lathe to make it significantly easier to turn the wood part. Also I am waiting on a small boring bar and a few other time saving upgrades.

    Beautiful shape and finishing.
You may like working with ebonite and line with brass when some weight is desired.

I really want a Conid Bulkfiller. At their prices it’ll take a little bit of saving. My problem is that I’ll find a couple of more affordable pens in the meantime that I’ll buy that will just push the Conid back further. I love demonstrators and the Bulkfiller is the best looking one there is.

Assuming I don't find any more pens needing TLC or in the wild, and I don't find my missing 'blues' Kaweco Art Sport, my choices are coming down to a very few.

Pelikan m200 demonstrators: Olivine is very tempting. Sort of holding off the superscale temptations of the bigger siblings Vibrant Orange and Stone Garden.

Platinum 3776 Laurel: very tempting. Would it go well with the Olivine I wonder? Two different takes on translucent green.

Waterman Liaison ebonite: a pen I really, really want, but I never see it at a price I can afford.

Needless to say, I'll probably find a good deal on something that's not on this list... I wasn't expecting my two big pen purchases this half-year to be a Bexley and an Edison, but exactly the pens I'd been looking for just happened to come along!

I swore off new pens a couple of months ago, but today I found myself yearning for a 51 Flighter.....then I checked the prices.

So no, I don’t have anything in the works.

Tried a nib-swap on my TWSBI Eco from a Fine to Italic ('borrowed' from a Pilot Plumix). Because SOMEONE inspired me to yearn for a 1.1.

Did not work. Eco now blobs and leaks. Did what I should have in the first place and ordered a new Eco with 1.1 nib. And now my fingers are DA US Constitution Blue.
My other pen is a Montblanc.

And my other blog is a tumblr!
