I'm going to assume it's a lever filler since there was no break at all in the striation of the barrel to the end.

Definitely worth the initial investment, tipping and nib looks good.

That's what my eyes told me, but I've learned to not completely trust a photo.

I wasn't asking because of what the end value would be, but because a lever filler - which just needs a rubber sac inside replaced - will be less cost involved in restoring. A vac-fill mechanism will need a more skilled person to work on and a slightly higher price for work, but will hold more ink. In the end, they both will function to supply ink to the nib and it is personal preference for the user as to which they want.

I just wanted to make certain it was a lever fill, which will make it even more of a bargain.

    Most likely suspect.

Plan on having it serviced regardless. Tell us where you are located and we can likely make recommendations.

Based on the Triumph nib and white dot, I agree. I would consider sending it to Danny Fudge of The Write Pen. He does excellent work for reasonable rates.

The original box would be worth $13 if you needed one and didn't have a nicer one .

Seems like a steal for $13 even if it needs rebuild. I've never done a vacuum filler but it can't be that hard to diy, can it?

We've done snorks, Touchdowns, buttons, and regular lever-fillers. Vacs still scare us.
My other pen is a Montblanc.

And my other blog is a tumblr!
