    Richard includes Sheaffer's Type 1 (flat stainless steel) nib in his list of Snorkel nib types, but note that even according to his own breakdown of the Snorkel models, no Snorkel model carried such a nib.

    There is no Snorkel model that was fitted with any shape steel nib; not a flat steel nib (Type 1), nor a sheath point steel nib (nonexistent nib type).

    Into the 1960s, the only steel nibs Sheaffer used were the low-end Fineline flat nib and the Type 1 flat nib used in pens such as the Tip-Dip series.

    I like to think of Sheaffer's PdAg nibs as being 2.4K white gold, or .500 silver...

    Update: The pen also has a gold snorkel tube. The only problem is a crap in the cap where the clip attaches. Which is a bummer. Still a great find!
