Richard includes Sheaffer's Type 1 (flat stainless steel) nib in his list of Snorkel nib types, but note that even according to his own breakdown of the Snorkel models, no Snorkel model carried such a nib.
There is no Snorkel model that was fitted with any shape steel nib; not a flat steel nib (Type 1), nor a sheath point steel nib (nonexistent nib type).
Into the 1960s, the only steel nibs Sheaffer used were the low-end Fineline flat nib and the Type 1 flat nib used in pens such as the Tip-Dip series.
