Default Article: 100 best pens (fountain and the rest)

    https://nymag.com/strategist/article...-fountain.html

This is just a fun read. Mind you, this is written from a different perspective than that of a fountain pen geek. One obvious failure is that the comparisons of one hundred pens on attributes like bleed-through and smudging fail to distinguish pen from ink. For example, when reviewing a Pelikan M205:

"Smudging was a minor issue, about average for a fountain pen. (I tested this with the included ink cartridge, which is a special edition Pelikan ink from the “Edelstein Ink Collection,” so it’s possible that had something to do with the smudginess.)"

    NSS! (Emphasis added.)

Be sure you read the introductory explanations before diving into the 100 pens. Even so, I lost patience reading through so many, so I ran a search (in Safari) on the word "fountain" (appearing 72 times on the webpage) which zeroed in on the content I was interested in. Spoiler: The Aurora Ipsilon was their winner of the fountain pens.

Naturally you can't comment on it either.

But bleed/feather/smudge/etc is rather pointless when they make absolutely no mention of ink and paper used.

It was interesting. I red on and on before I saw anything I would touch. Interesting conclusions. To each one his own poison.

They used this Muji paper for all of them: https://www.muji.us/store/plantation...-5pcs-set.html

It would appear that the ink chosen for each pen was an ink supplied with acquisition of said pen. We therefore see Pelikan Smokey Quartz being used in the Pelikan and the Aurora ink used in the Aurora pen.

Still a bit pointless, but then again their number one pen was a rollerball, so.

I couldn't, despite trying to sign in or login on all available methods (google, facebook, manually) it just fails. Least for me anyways. Couldn't even see the pre-existing comments.

Interesting Rapidograph is considered a fountain pen???
And of course at 12 and 7 my all time favorite ball pens....
