Vintage Kaweco

First of all, welcome to FPGeeks!

Second, I have absolutely no idea what model of Kaweco that is. I didn't even know there was a button fill model.

Third, I'm sure somebody more knowledgeable will come along and help you.

It is an early Kaweco Special pen from when they still made button fillers.
It might be worth posting on this thread on FPN and getting some help on dating the pen.

The pen filling mechanism is easy to fix, but getting a nib may prove a problem since there are not many OBB nibs around. The old nibs were made using thinner plate and the OBB would have been around a modern OB thickness but with a more discernible variation then what you get with the modern blob tipping.

The OBB nib size is on the blind cap. The 31 on the body refers to the type, size and material used for the nib, I think.

If you want to preserve the original embossed nib, a craftsman such as Greg Minuskin can weld a replacement gold tine on that Kaweco nib, and straighten and re-tip it, though the cost will be more than the market value of the restored pen. Still, a Kaweco collector might feel it'll be worth it.
