    Default Mystery Ink #23

Here it is: the grand finale to my mystery ink reboot. This one might have an actual mystery to it!

As with any mystery ink it is open to FPG veterans, n00bs, newbies, and lurkers. You volunteer, I pick names, I send free ink, you write with it and post your thoughts and observations. Guessing is welcome, but not required. There is nothing to "win" aside from personal satisfaction that you recognized it. No guess is confirmed until the mystery ink is finally revealed. The point of the mystery ink threads is an unbiased review. Fear not about the quality of your handwriting or sketching abilities. We don't care. We are all appreciative of those with the gift of artistic ability, but how well you draw or write doesn't impact your ability to test an ink and provide your opinion on it.

If you've been sitting on the sidelines time to hop off the fence and join in before your opportunity disappears! Unfortunately I'm not going to take any additional international participants on this one. The higher cost of international postage was easier to accept when I was sending 3 or 4 samples at a time. More than I choose to deal with this round with only a single sample to go. I have 8 remaining ink vials, so that's the number of additional volunteers I'm looking for.

The current list from prior international shipments:
    chrissy
    suzy01
    Pterodactylus

Would love to join the fun -- as before, I will stand aside if a new reviewer would like a chance, however.

    I was tempted.

And then I was saved. Just as well, given that circumstance may well have intervened. Ah, well. All credit to you, Scooby, for doing this at all. Even as a mere onlooker it's both interesting and entertaining.

After a very hectic couple months at work and home I think I can jump back into the FP community; I'd love to join the last mystery ink.

And I'm not sure why Scooby is drawing the mystery inks to a close, but if he wants donations to keep the tradition alive I'd gladly send a few bottles his way.

I appreciate the offer for more inks, but ink itself is the cheaper part of Mystery Inks. 20% ink and 80% sample vials, envelopes, and postage. I don't want to post the actual amount I've spent because I don't want that to impact anyone's opinion of the Mystery Ink series, the inks provided, or me as a human being. I've simply reached the end of the money I budgeted and number of inks I felt I could provide within that budget.

Well, there doesn't appear to be any further interest, so I'll start shipping inks tomorrow. grainweevil, as there is a lack of other participants I'm happy to ship you a sample as the international postage is offset by the lack of others who would have participated and received a domestic package.

    This will be interesting.....

I already throw a glance at it, and this is completely different to what I know.

Sure that you sent me MI#23 and not a kind of pen rinse/cleaning fluid?

It's very generous of you, Scooby, thank you. But as I feared, circumstances are intervening; I wouldn't be able to give it the attention it deserves, and judging by comments from Chrissy and Ptero, it'll need plenty to puzzle it out. I'm looking forward to watching from the sidelines a good deal though, especially when it comes to any writing samples!

I have wondered this too. If MI#23 is definitely regular ink, then something might have gone wrong with my sample.

I thought if it could be Noodlerˋs Blue Ghost or something similar.
So I borrowed from my son a toy (a little blacklight diode he got together with a invisible ink gadget pen (was a spy add-on to a comic book)).
Used a brush to apply it on a piece of paper to see if it would glow in the black light.
But the diode emitted not much black light (had already a weak battery) and it was quite light in the room, so I did not saw it glowing...... I might try this again in a dark environment.

Possibly advice to elderly female relatives on sucking eggs, but with UV visible inks it's advisable to use them on papers that don't have any brighteners. Blue Ghost is more than a little disappointing on Rhodia, for instance.

I doubt it's a noodlers from conversions I've had with Scooby in the past. I have a few ideas but I'm keeping my thoughts to myself until everyone has their inks. I wondered of perhaps Scooby had mixed up medical samples it's certainly going to be fun to play with and a great finale, thank you again for running this series. It's given me an appreciation of trying new inks that I otherwise wouldn't have discovered.

For MI #23 I am certainly being a child. Ptero is on the right wavelength. Channel your inner secret agent.

Tracking updates all packages should be delivered on the 24th. Hopefully the additional load of packages through the mail this holiday season doesn't delay things for everyone.

Got it. Haven't yet used it. Have two guesses:

    1. Some sorta lab specimen.

    2. Gatorade.
