I love old ledger books! I find the paper is great for dip pens. Some of the old ones have nice watermarks too.

In the realm of fountain pens, I've got a small collection of fountain pens that were produced by the Autopoint Company back in the 1930's. Autopoint was essentially a mechanical pencil company, but did make a line of rather handsome fountain pens for a brief time.

I like the blue and red lines in some... I've purchased a couple of really nice ones on ebay in the last month.

Have you ever seen Native American Ledger Art? They were short of paper so did wonderful drawings in old ledgers... that came to mind when you said you use accounting books for sketching..

I had an opportunity to see a show of ledger art books in the 80's.... and there are a few reproductions available in book form. I can say I was inspired by them.. yet I've always like ledger books in general...

Speaking of Autopoint... I find myself now collecting their twin point pencils. My father had one, the red on one end and the black on the other but I keep turning up different ones. Some with red and green or red and blue or yellow and black... some with white barrels or grey or brown... My latest hunt is for one that has black at both ends... I THINK I saw one once!
I didn't know they made Fountain pens too!

Ah! You must have seen my original post. I saw the icon for video on the menu bar, and it helpfully told me which code to use (from YouTube). Thanks, Waski!

I "collect" dollar coins. I put them in a tin can with a slot in the top and no way to open it without destroying the can. So I don't know how many are in there. Almost full, though. (It's a small tin can, so it couldn't be thousands and thousands... (sad face).)
