Default Latest set of pens repaired - Sheaffer, Bayard

I've just been occupying myself with a few more pen repairs. Here they are.

The oversize is a "famous", with a steel nib that's been stubbed, and flexes nicely. It's not a first tier pen, but the red and black striated material is really rather lovely.

The tiddler is a Bayard 'Special 8' with warranted 18ct nib that may not be original. I really love the celluloid, a brown base with black lines, red splotches, and little gold sparkles.

The Sheaffer Balance had a surprise for me. A SWAN nib! It's been a bit beaten up and I may want to polish it a bit more to get out some micro-scratches - the translucent section has also been damaged by some so-and-so with pliers. (Will patient use of micromesh get those marks out, or at least reduced?)

And finally, a slender red mottled hard rubber pen, the Orton (119 A5, for what that's worth) with a Paris warranted no 5 nib with a heart-hole. Rather lovely, though there's a little chip out of the section end of the barrel.

Heat may help with the pliers marks. Works with some materials, not with others but worth a try.

Patient use of micro mesh may help quite a lot too.

Thanks gals, I'll give both techniques a try. It's otherwise a very pretty pen so if I can get it looking 100% I'll be extremely happy.

FWIW I use Zona paper. Then follow up with buffing using a Dremel and red, then white compound.
