    They're both middle of the road imo. You really only have to worry about cases at the far end of the Gaussian distribution.

    Certainly lots of good points to help me think on this. With only two pens though I fear experimentation is going to be quite limited. The Lamy 2000 is a dedicated black ink pen. Maybe I can explore some other brand black inks. Are there any good sites that have catalogued ink reviews?

    There is an Ink Review forum on this site but it's not just for black inks, it's for all inks. It's worth a look.
    Black inks aren't necessarily the most popular colour for everyone.

    Edit: Good grief! Never knew there were so many different inks. Going to take a while to trawl through that lot.

    Ps. A lady I work with has recently retired and today she gave me a mostly full bottle of Parker Quink Black. Not sure what that's like yet.
