Go to Forum page and scroll down to the Classifieds. Then pick the WTB or Trade forum

Putting "Montblanc 149 for sale" suggests you're selling one.

Wait until you're at the LA show on Sunday when you can write with them before you buy, and compare nibs and prices. There will be plenty of 149s (and 146es) for sale. These are not rare by any means.

Dont know why but over this side of the big pond 149's have shot up in price on the S/H market, only a few years ago, you used to be able to pick them up for around £200, now they all seem to be north of £400, but 146's have stayed around £165.

    Anyone know why.

I do not observe the prices, but in my memory the 149 were also expensive years ago.
I would not have expected to get a nice one in good condition at 200£ also years ago.

These days I think you have to calculate at least 400€ to get a decent one (400-700€).

If you are lucky and do not have too high expectations on the condition maybe a bit less.

Only talking about the ordinary modern ones, not the good ones (50’s), which are ridiculous expensive, far beyond 1k €.

Maybe because the RRP is now so high? Montblanc have made their 146 nib units user exchangeable, so the price increased. I thought they might have done this with the 149 too, but I'm not 100% sure about the 149.
When I've looked on ebay the only ones that seem to sell for this sort of price are quite old and battered ones with worn EF nibs. Not the type I would ever buy.

I've noticed that, too. Most 149s used I see are around $450-$500. 146s are going for $$250-$300. Not sure why other than those are the prices they are being offered/bought for.

Yes. The economy is doing better now than it was. Also, the USD has been depreciating.
