    Default Baltimore Pen Show

I wonder how the Baltimore Pen Show is coming along? A few hours ago, I was eight miles into a 100-mile drive to the show with a case full of pens...until I had an irrepairable tire puncture. Would you rather have a new pen today, or a new tire delivered on Monday?

Fred, could you drive to the show using the spare tire, sell a couple of pens and use the money to pay for the new tire?

I can commiserate literally, I've once had to use the money I got from pen sales to pay for a new tire for my truck.

    A likely story!

I had plans (and reservations) to go, but at 8 AM Saturday morning, I was just too lazy. My tires are fine!

I went yesterday and had a great time. "Mike it Work" did some work at the show to a broken diaphragm on 1948 Parker Vac I had and it now functions great and looks brand new. I also picked up a bottle of ink along with a new green platinum #3776 fountain pen, that I had never before seen in person to add to the black, Chatres blue and Burgogne ones I already have. I love the #3776 line of fountain pens. It was great spending time with the vendors and other pen people at the show.

    Dangit Fred!

the show was a blast. there was a respectable (ahem) contingent of Columbusites there.

the drive back to Cbus took 8 hours in the weather. Only the middle 7 hours of it sucked.

    what's your next show Fred?

there was a pool at the Marriott, so you really missed out. My kids were in it most of the weekend.

I may go to the Long Island show in two weeks, Saturday only. It's not as big, but it's always busy, especially for selling.

    Sorry Fred!

I had my first major theft as a vendor at Baltimore..
Someone made of with an M815 Pel FP!
Prior to this, it was little items <$50 for the most part.

Many vendors have suffered in recent shows.
Not company I intended to be in, but it is the nature of what we do!
