Default Parker gel refill gunk in barrel

Hi all! First post here. Looooong time lurker . I have a Parker 75 Cisele BP that I left a Parker Gel refill in for two years....

Now there’s this greasy, silicone like substance inside the barrel. Is there any way to safely clean it?

    Thanks !

    Hello and welcome to FPGeeks.

The first thing I would try would be soaking the barrel in warm to hot water to which dishwashing soap has been added. If that fails then I would soak it in a proprietary pen flush solution. You might need a product called Rapidoeze. Alternatively an Ultrasonic Bath might work if you have one.

Once you have the barrel clean, you may also need to clean the outside of the cap to make the parts match again.
