The Gil Evans Orchestra - *Out of the Cool* - - great recording on the Impulse! label originally released in 1961. This one is an all analog 45 rpm vinyl reissue.

I still find c1940s big band music relaxing.

I too like that music very much. I'm sure you've located many fine offerings of this genre on the internet. One of my favorites is: http://www.1940sukradio.co.uk
I have several internet "table" radios in the house, and also an internet tuner plugged into my principal stereo system. The older I get, the more play the 1940's stuff gets.

I put that on when I'm working in my den. Sirius has a 'fourtys' station too. It is my default in the car for long drives.

My music library got corrupted after 10 years or so, and I’ve been re-ripping several hundred CDs. While monotonous, it has given me a chance to listen again to old albums (back when they were made to be listened to from start to finish, instead of being a collection of wannabe hit singles). Jethro Tull’s Aqualung, Pink Floyd’s Meddle, etc.
For ‘new’ music, I’ve recently discovered Brandi Carlile. Well written songs, excellent musicianship and amazing vocals (and harmonies).

From 1954, *Music for Tired Lovers* - jazz standards sung by Woody Herman with Erroll Garner on piano. Columbia Records CL 651 - reissued on cd.

friend of a friend was in the band. Never got around to seeing them live.
if you grew up in the 90s and like nirvana/QOTSA/Soundgarden/STP I think you might like Puddy/Red Elite
I wish this band had recorded twice as many songs!
Leonard Bernstein's *West Side Story*
Lang Lang Chopin - The Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra.
A CD of this music was included with the Montblanc Hommage à Frederic Chopin fountain pen.
Alas, the 145 with Bold nib I bought from Fountain Pen Hospital was not the Hommage à Frederic Chopin edition and did not come with the CD. Thankfully, Apple Music has the recordings.

This one.
Karla Bonoff. Seeing her in October in Philly (if things don't keep getting so covidy again)
I'm not a classical piano buff, but I heard an interview and some performance clips by Mahani Teave on the radio: she's brilliant. First album I've bought in years. She's from Easter Island, Polynesian father, Yank mum. After winning prizes and touring, she returned to the island to start a music school.

Margaret Price singing Schumann lieder. I love her Brahms & Richard Strauss lieder but for some reason never got into the Schumann. Maybe it just had to wait for the right moment. I’m enjoying them quite a bit tonight.
