    Default Onionskin paper

The years have a way of creeping up on you. A little while back I remembered how nice onionskin paper was for writing on in fountain pen "back in the day," so I went into an office supply store to pick some up. Not only could I not find it, the kids who worked there had never heard of it. This was something that from my childhood through my young adulthood, anyway, you could find in every drug store in America. So I went online, and found ONE company that manufactures what it calls onionskin paper, but it's not the same stuff because it has 0% cotton content, and real onionskin has at least 25%. The only place I could find any was on eBay at ridiculous prices. It was as if I had gone into a store to buy a number 2 pencil, only to find they'd stopped making them, but I could still buy a vintage Ticonderoga on eBay for $20. Dang.

For genuine onionskin, go to our very own jbb's etsy page: JBBPensPaper. I expect she has more that's not even listed.

Thanks! I bought a gorgeous dip pen and Spencerian nib from her a little while ago at a great price. I love her store; don't know why I didn't think of it by myself.

I buy from JBB. There is a pad of paper made by life--Airmail paper, I think it's called. But the vintage stuff from Jill is very nice. I've tried lots of what she sells.

JBB sells the best paper! Love her Etsy store. In the past she’s had onion skin in different colors, too.

    *nods*

I bought some cool and amusing white onionskin with red lines, and some with black numbers. And some yellow 'manifold' paper. Still have some, too.
My other pen is a Montblanc.

And my other blog is a tumblr!
