Default Ink Review: Cult Pens (Diamine) Iridescink Robert

Cult Pens Iridescink Robert ink is one of the two new iridescent metallic sheening inks that are exclusively made for Cult Pens by Diamine Inks. Cult Pens describe them as being a bit different and a bit more unusual because they are made to sheen.

Robert is a very saturated, dark magenta purple ink that can exhibit some very nice contrasting green sheen. It flowed very well with all of the pens I tried it in, felt quite wet, and it’s lubrication was really smooth across the page. It dried very quickly and didn’t smear after it was dry.

It’s an unusual shade of magenta purple and I didn’t have any ink that was very similar in colour. In order to see the sheen properly, it’s better to write with pens that lay down plenty of ink, and use smooth, non-absorbent paper.

I used Xerox ColorPrint 100gsm smooth coated paper, that is not absorbent, and I saw no spread or showthrough.

Available in 30ml plastic and 80ml glass bottles from Cult Pens web-site
