Default Video of Mr. Osamu Ishimaru, Ink Blender for Sailor

Saw this video that was posted over at the "other" pen site. The video was produced by NHK television and is captioned in English.

Note at 3:43, the Sailor test bottles in the background and the vase glass bottle that Bungubox used to come in. Apparently still available for current customers. And at 2:27, a close-up of the Sailor Naginata Fude de Mannen nib in use?

That does sound like a good job. In another life maybe I would have liked to have done it.

    What pens are they using?
Or is it just a dip nib handle fitted with a sailor (a F-2 perhaps?) nib?

Given what Sailor is now trying to charge for their ink, you’d think he was custom mixing each bottle.

But that is a very cool service. I wish I had access to that.

Strange, when I first saw the video I immediately thought of you, Chrissy, sitting there with two dozen open bottles of Diamine. Just needed to add a couple of binders filled with ink chromas arranged by color, and two Serendipity hybrid pens with a Jowo 1.1mm stub and a medium nib to test the colors.

    All the Best.

When I read your post I had this vision of me doing that in my mind's eye.

That is a wonderful video. Thank you. It might be a fun plan for someone, maybe Chrissy, to set up a booth doing this at pen shows.

One of Sailor's fude pens. They cost about $20 and come in different angles. I've got a few, good way to show off inks.

    What a delightful video!

By the way, I read somewhere that the reason Sailor has raised their ink prices is because they've added a new secret ingredient, which I have on good authority is unicorn tears.

I don't even want to know what they do to those poor unicorns to make them cry.

Perhaps they show the unicorns the new price tag along the bottle
