    On This Day in 1916:

    Harvey Kauffman, inmate B-7372, is placed in solitary for stealing potatoes and onions, likely from the kitchen. Samuel Harris, inmate B-5763, is placed in solitary for throwing an ink bottle out of his cell door at Clarence Hartshorne, inmate B-4177.

    If you uncover a report of anyone in the "pen" using a nib as a "shank" I would love to hear about it.
