New to fountain pens and new to FPGeeks.
I own two pens currently and have purchased three. The first two were LAMY Safaris. One in the new pastel blue for the gf and one in charcoal for myself. And recently, I picked up a Conklin Endura with a mahogany body from Goulet Pens.
I've never had good handwriting. Going through school in the 90s, I didn't find it necessary to spend much time perfecting my writing skills, especially when personal computers were starting to become more common. And truth be told, I didn't really need to have great handwriting skills for the few decades that have followed.
These days, I wish I had taken more of an interest in developing that particular skill. While visiting family over the holidays, I overheard my father tell my niece who is just 6 years old that she needs to learn how to write in cursive. I thought to myself "when was the last time I even tried to write in cursive. I probably don't remember how!" And so since mid-January, anytime I've handwritten anything, it's been in cursive. It's not pretty at all, still, but I'm practicing. But, I digress...
I'm enjoying using the two fountain pens that I currently own and I'm fascinated by the following that fountain pens seems to have. I never had a clue so many people were making fountain pens a hobby. I've been learning more and more about these fine writing instruments every day and hope that continues.
I'm not sure how much I will be posting around here, but decided to go ahead and register just in case I need to ask a question sometime.
