    Default Sheaffer´S Balance photo gallery

We could open this thread in which we can upload and comment Balances and so they will remain easy to follow and in the same thread that I suppose will be useful both for their devoted followers as a source of information for those who have just begun to collect them.

Maybe it could have gone in the Pen Photo Gallery?

Hi, I consider it more localizable to consult in Sheaffer's own brand but if Admi is of another opinion I beg to change it. Thank you.

I just thought if it is specifically photos of pens, then maybe "Pen Photos" could have been the place. Nothing to stop it being called "Photos of Sheaffer Balance Pens." Too late now though. Admin unlikely to move it.

Skyboy 1940-41 with its source clip before this model was armed with military clip "over the top" in the second half of 1941. There were two sizes; one Skyboy at the price of $10.00 and, another, Lady Skyboy of smaller diameter at $8.75 and both had "SKYBOY" engraved on clip. Skyboy was developed to withstand the most difficult tests in the use of aviation. It self-adjusts to atmospheric pressures and temperatures ... although, just in case, I would not put it in the pocket of my best shirt in case of flying -smile-.

I present today this almost unknown Balance c.1930. It is a black & pearl large diameter, oversize, K85TC factory symbol, assembling clip and cap ring in solid 14k gold. It was $16,00; 6,00$ more expensive than the similar model in gold plated trimmed. The presentation of Autograph pens in Balance shape, with a wider solid 14k gold band to record the owner's signature, would have to wait until the beginning of 1931.

Among Sheaffer collectors this pen is well known and not a mystery.

    Nice pen, but it's not a K85TC.

Balance pens with a wider solid gold band were being offered by 1930.

This golden brown Skyboy with over-the-top military clip was announced during a very short period of time, virtually since Sheaffer began manufacturing for the war in mid-1941 until 1942 when S'S reduced their catalog to only a few Triumph models.

I find it enjoyable that some posts here go unanswered. Almost like a few of us are being blocked.

I hope the OP has had a chance to review the article that discusses serial numbers on nibs and at some point we address the Desk Base Consortium. A review of model numbers would be good if time permits.

From catalog reference it seems that it is a K85TC.
    It's not.

I've switched from Gin and Tonic to Martinis because they have olives in them and I get hungry and the salt on the popcorn isn't good for me.

I think there's salt in olives. But the gin or, in my case, vodka somehow dilutes it right? That's my story and I'm sticking to it.

Except I am out of vodka. So Scotch it is!

Olive salt doesn't count. I'm sure of it.
