    Default Mystery Ink #26

Hi again, FP Geeks and ink aficionados, welcome to Mystery Ink #26, a continuation of the mythical, memorable, maniacal, magical Mystery Ink series where volunteers receive an unlabeled, unknown ink sample and share an unbiased review.

As always, Mystery Ink participation is open to FPG veterans, newbies, and lurkers. It's a super fun way to try a new ink you might not pick on your own.

I will randomly select from the pool of volunteers and send free ink. Then you write and/or draw with it and share your reviews, thoughts, opinions, and observations.

We don't care how good or bad your handwriting or drawing is. All we're after is a good, unbiased review of the ink. See prior threads to get an idea.

Guessing is welcome, but not required. There's no prize for a correct guess beyond deep, eternal, personal satisfaction.

The ink this time around should be safe in anything: medium saturation, dye based (not pigmented), no shimmer, not iron gall.

So, who else would like to participate in the Mystery Ink #26 review?

If you are international please let me know.

I'd be up for it. But I live on the other side of the world so by the time the sample got here, you'd be on to #27

Received my sample just now sadly it leaked a little, looks like a defective seal in the cap but I used a syringe to suck up as much as I could from inside the plastic bag thing. The good thing is I still have enough to continue and it looks like it will be an interesting color.

    Thanks

Well, that's deeply disappointing. It leaked despite my use of electrical tape. Damn. I thought I had this leaking thing figured out.

I have more I can send if you need it.

I should have enough to be fine. The electrical tape made it so the leak wasn't worse once I pulled the cap off I could see a tear in the o-ring. It was still packaged very good it was just one of those things no one could have predicted. The only way I knew it was the o-ring was when I opened it it was out of place slightly and I examined it closer.

    Thanks

    Mi 26

This is going to be photo-heavy (for me!) and MI 26 is one wild ink!

It looks yellowy-greeny in the vial (which arrived intact) but writes out tan-ish. The chroma looked like a highlighter ink when it first went down, but by the time it dried, was tamer. But the scan, for whatever reason, shows some of the neon qualities.

I loaded my new Wing Sung 3008 F and the ink in it looked iffy, as though it might be barely visible on paper. But no!

And no southpaw smearage either, not even on cream Tomoe River Paper. Cool thing to do on a Saturday evening. Thanks again to AZK!

I took photos and scans to see what the dif was. Another chameleon ink? So far, so good!

    Interesting writing samples!

Wait until you clean your pens. Diluted in water it is the color of antifreeze (neon green).

I found more of the green comes through with a very wet pen—my flexy Wahl Ringtop, in this case.
