Beware seller jjm5812, Jason Mei

I’ve received several inquiries today about my situation with the seller Jason Mei, jjm5812, after someone alerted this forum that the seller has likely reconstituted his persona and is continuing to post items for sale here and at Pentrace.

So here’s my update: Google Pay declined my dispute for the $850 I paid for the Omas Arco Verde. But my credit union/bank would not let it drop. I provided all my documentation showing Jason Mei offered the pen for sale, I paid for it, and I received a Pentel ballpoint/rollerball instead. Since then, I have been given a Provisional reimbursement of $850 by Google Pay. I’ve been waiting for my bank to mark it Final before posting about it, but given the new news about the scammy seller Jason Mei I decided to at least let you all know that much. Other irons are still in the fire.

I know Aurora got her money back from the seller; I do not know if VintageNibs received all of his money back.

I very much appreciate the kind thoughts and wishes so many of you have sent me. Thank you.

You can often dispute debit card purchases as well. Call your bank/credit union.

Yes. Sadly, people can morph themselves into a variety of usernames, re-invent themselves and it is hard to keep up with all the permutations of their deceit. “Buyer beware” has never been more pertinent to my thinking than it is now.

I'm very pleased to hear that you received all of your money back. That's great news.
However, I would have liked to have seen it come from Jason Mei's pocket and not Google's coffers. I wonder if they will try to be reimbursed by Jason, or if the police will get involved and make him pay it back as I don't like to think of him still having the pen and the money that he sold it for.

I'm on your side of the bench but am struggling to put together any workable explanation from the seller.

Thanks, Farmboy. Yeah, although I know he has no explanation to clear everything up, I’d like to hear the doozy of a story he would concoct, too. But maybe better to let sleeping dog (with fleas) lie.

ChrisL, if you also look in the Market Feedback sub-forum, under “Jason Mei is back!” you’ll see PoolBoy’s post on July 23rd that says this: “Besides ‘CaseSensitive’ and ‘Casey,’ Jason Mei has also used the following screen names on Pentrace:
‘Chris,’ ‘pen2find,’ ‘J.M.’ & ‘Jay.’”

The problem is, outing this Jason Mei scammer becomes whack-a-mole. As soon as is he discovered to have set up a new persona, then he just abandons it and sets up another one. Or always has a few usernames in his pocket. Based on my experience with him, he’s adaptable, sneaky, lying, and dishonest. The more we openly share how we know the new username is said Jason Mei, the more info he has to try to hide his real identity and intentions next time. I’m very grateful FPGeeks has given me the space and leeway without censorship to chronicle my experience with him. And I’m extremely grateful for the help I’ve had back channel from some members here (you all know who you are).

1. I had no idea of CaseSensitive's identity or dark past. I'm a newbie in this forum, but it doesn't mean I cannot share a bit of my transaction.
Also, I don't think it is a praise. I'm telling THE FACTS.
Plz note the fact I paid on 6/29, seller didn't ship till 7/11 and I got package 7/13. Much longer than I expected.
Confirmed with seller that the pen would come with box, but I didnt get the outer white box.
I receive the pen I pay for. The pen itself is in 9.5/10 condition, just as the description. The result turns out to be good.

2. As far as I know, the name on receiver's Paypal is not Jason Mei, or anything might be related to that name. So it is a little hard for me to believe they are the same person. Any solid evidence?

3. Two other pens sold in CaseSensitive's same post. You can ask the buyers for their experience - if you are sure who the buyers are.
