    Default Looking for differences game.

    Once the 'Mystery Of The Broken Taper' has been cleverly resolved in Parker's forum, I will propose this other game here, in Sheaffer'S;

Something, or things, rare in this original Profit Tips?

You added a watermark to the original scan?

    What did I win?

Here's a better image of the important detail, from my article "Not In This Lifetime", where I discuss this:

...which leads naturally to the question of who was the largest original shareholder in the Kraker Pen Company, and whether Joseph A. Kraker exists...

    Anyone?

No, not really. The question is just for Ramon. So don't give away the answer!

Of course Sheaffer and others frequently took liberties with the orientation of clip and nib imprints in their promotional materials. This is well-known.

“if you want to be even bolder, tell us who was Kraker’s largest shareholder!”

The Profit Tips object of this post contains two photoengraving errors:

    1) The clips in the reality are not like the one drawn in Profit Tips, as you can see it:

    2) The ad describes a Life Time fountain pen $ 8.75 that should mount No. 8 number nib however in Profit Tips we see a "Life Time" pen mounting a No. 5 non-Lifetime of $ 5.75.

The same ad was published in The National Geographic Magazine according to reality in opposition to this Profit Tips what confirms us that have these two errors

The issue, these photoengraving errors, either by paying more attention or by improving of photo printing techniques, was corrected hereafter and from this year we would not see again, except perhaps some rare exception, similar mistakes nor "inverted clip".

Ramon is watermarking images taken from other sources without proper acknowledgement.

To bad. The owners of the source documents only become less likely to share those items that have not been made available.

Thanks you; everything is o.k. and I think your criticism is right(*) so that in the future images, taking for me or expressly collect for me, will be marked only with some of these stamps indicating the collecting origin (no exactly watermark). I´m sure that those who wish me well are happy to know the origin of the selection.

(*) In a way it is understandable different provenance marks because I have written first under "LittleWirt" and "Lazard" pseudonyms and after that with my own name. On the other hand, it has been many years buying memorabilia, taking photos of my own fountain pen collection and others that, for different reasons, passed through my hands, receiving docs from friends who know my hobby and countless clues to get me complimentary graphics information. Almost 2 decades and 30,000 docs between photos, books, magazines or catalogs have given to different provenance marks that now, little by little, I´m going to replacing.

Photographs, artwork and graphics that were not created by you are not owned by you. Therefore, images of those originals need no marks. Provenance is indicated by a description next to the image where it originates (e.g. "Saturday Evening Post, Vol 22, No. 4, p. 16"), not by your claim to it by distorting it with a mark.
