Default Parker XXI ballpoint identification - some help please

Was sent this photography by another Parker collector.

Described as a Parker XXI - Argentina production pen

It obviously is not a P21.

I thought I knew all the pens made in South America – P45 61 51 Classic etc

    New one on me.

Any comments would be appreciated, particularly from any Vector pen collectors here.

It looks to me like a Vector rollerball with some sort of a replacement grip. Isn't it more likely to be a rollerball than a ballpoint as it has a removable cap?

    Chrissy,

    Many thanks for your reply.

Whilst I have never collected any Parker Vector, I know what they look like.
( I had not idea just how may fans there are of these pens until recently speaking to other collectors, they never attracted me )

I have no idea what it is.

Experience has told me, looking at the tip of the feed that is a ballpoint.
    Perhaps I am wrong.

Have no record of South American production of fibre tip or rollerball production ( post 1979 )

Parker ballpoints don't usually have removable caps. Some rollerball tips look exactly like ballpoint tips.
My money is still on a frankenpen.

    Chrissy,

    Many thanks for your reply.

3 years ago I would have thought the same.

Was offered this ballpoint and researched it, have no intention to be clever.

In the mid 1980's Vector changed the design of ballpoints, P88 too.

( The provenance of this pen is not in doubt, nor it is a prototype, it is just rare. )

Still would like comments from any Vectors collectors PLEASE.
