I know vinyl records went away for a couple of decades because I sold about 1500 of my 3000 album collection, and I regret having to try and replace some of the Blue Note and Impulse jazz that I practically gave away in the 90s. But fountain pens never went away as far as I know. I have had fountain pens, and used them daily since elementary school and I am about 50 years removed from those days now. Fountain pens can’t be back if they never went away.

Ouch. Apart from a box I had stolen, I have managed to hang on to all of mine, many of them Japanese pressings. Like my pens, I just continued to use them.
    Vintage. Cursive italic. Iron gall.

I noticed that articles like this have popped up periodically since at least the 1980s. I do feel a bit better about using my fancier pens to just write lists sometimes. Maybe that means I am part of the reddit generation after all.

All news to me lol. I have always used a fountain pen from a kid. School did not really like biros so it was pencil and then a fountain pen when I got older. I guess I am a bit of a traditionalist lol but I still like fountain pen and pencil today. I also use a double edge razor and have a mechanical watch and I am not even that old lol.

Is anyone here personally familiar with Fahrney's brick and mortar shop? I admit as close as I am, especially when visiting D.C. for pens (DC show, Bertrams Inkwell, LaBelleEpoque, former Pen Haven) or other reasons, I've yet to make a detour downtown to Fahrney's Pens. What's it like? Do they offer a range of vintage like Fountain Pen Hospital? In house repair?
