    Default A funny little Sheaffer

Picked this up recently. Shorter than I prefer, but a super cool little pen. From what I can find this was a "Short" model from around 1934/35 by the hump clip with the flat ball end. Interesting that its so much shorter than a standard Balance, but the same girth!

A plunger fill version would indeed be an interesting one! The ebonized pearl models are among my top favorite pens, visually and functionally.

I have two of them and love them. One or the other is usually inked. Perhaps I should sell one...

Does it post well? Iy looks like it would need to be posted to write with comfortably, at least for me. It's certainly beautiful.

Note that the model shown was not offered in a plunger fill version.

    Daniel,

Which “ebonized pearl” Balance models were offered with Vac-Fill, and over what years?

    Thanks.

All lever-filler models that were offered in Ebonized Pearl were also available in a Vac-Fil version except for the short standard-girth pen. Different models appeared at different times; Vac-Fil pens in general appeared mid-'34, and Ebonized Pearl Vac-Fil pens were probably available by late '34 or mid-'35 at the latest.
