here are some additional photos of the CusTom #38, a custom made pen, made by Tom Westerich:
I assume that Tom choosed the nr.38 because the pen has the same dimensions and a similar shape as a Montblacn 138:
The CusTom is made of cumberland ebonite and has a piston filler developped by Tom himself.
He also choosed this nice Montblanc 146 nib from the 50's and the original Montblanc Papyrus clip.
Unfortunately, the nib and I didn't get along, so I just swapped it out for another vintage No. 6 nib that fits my writing habits much better:
For now, the pen is with me all the time for testing:
It works flawlessly and has some nice design features too:
All in all, I can only recommend Toms high end craftmanship! This pen is really very well made, elegant and practical to use. Just great!

It is a gorgeous pen. The Cumberland ebonite barrel appears to mimic an ambered celluloid barrel that allows a view of the ink level. How is this possible?
I don't know, maybe it's just the photography...?
So how did your pocket like the testing?

Beautiful
Does Tom Westerich make new clips for his pens, or does he use vintage clips? That is my second-favorite Montblanc clip.
This is definitely my favourite MB clip and I asked T.W. to mount a vintage but new plated papyrus clip to my pen.
Looks so good.

The cusTom pen is a superb pen! Great design and materials. I have a couple of pens made by Tom and can attest to the level of craftsmanship too! 👍
