The ink was better than the coffee.

Despite a busy weekend schedule, I still found some time to tinker.
This nib was lying around for a long time with me.
I once made it out of aPelikan M100 and a M200 nib, but could never offer it a permanent home in the form of a suitable fountain pen. Since I have been drawing a lot lately, I wanted to change that.
A quick look in the parts box brought the following to light:
The barrel of a defective M200 (the piston mechanism was gone)
the heavy used cap of a Pelikan 400NN
and the piston housing and piston knob of a Pelikan 140
I shortened the empty piston housing, slightly reduced the diameter on the lathe, and permanently glued it into the empty M200 barrel. I freed the 140's rotary knob from its spindle and screwed it onto the protruding thread of the piston housing with a little silicone grease. Surprise! The barrel was airtight.
So I quickly screwed in the nib unit and filled the pen from the back with the syringe. (You can fit a lot of ink in there!) I took Platinum Carbon Black, because I really like this waterproof ink.
And the Pelikan Eyedropper with double nib was ready. Perfect for drawing, quick notes, reminders, labeling, envelopes and much more...
(...as if I didn't have enough fountain pens to write with already!)

This nib is really fun! Today, I had the time to play...
...and wasted a gallon of ink!

Brilliantly done - perhaps Pelikan's Skunkworks team is taking notes
I have to lookup if you have share more about this nib - it is my favorite type and similar to Monty Winnfields Seagull nib.
