Me! I have quite a few different brands & types. My favourites are Faber Castell Polychromos. They are well-made, have superb quality cores, hold a fine point, rarely break & the colours are extremely fade resistant.

I have a tin of Prismacolor pencils. They are fairly soft and their color leans more toward saturated and less toward subtle. When I was shopping them, they seemed in the middle of the price ranges I saw. I only use them for coloring books, not free hand drawings.

Prismacolor here, too. I've used them for decades, and not just for coloring books. I also have a set of Staedtler watercolor pencils. Though maybe I got the brand wrong...
My other pen is a Montblanc.

I just bought a tin of 72. I see videos of really nice work done with Prismacolor pencils but I also see a lot of videos of people criticizing them. I guess there was a time when the quality control was bad. I like them

As you probably know there is a big debate about Prismacolor v. Polychromos. I am a big fan of the latter: they are superb.

I have a tin of 120 of the Prismacolor, & whilst I like the colour selection (lots of reds & neutrals), I don’t think they’re the best of my sets. They seem more fragile to me. The cores often break so I have had to replace those I can’t sharpen, they are waxy & don’t layer well as they tend to build up a bloom that dulls the finish, and the wood casing isn’t great quality. But they are available as open stock, which is always good, still fun to use & I enjoy them. In fact I used them yesterday & was happy with the result.

If you enjoy coloured pencils take a take a look at Peter Weaterill’s website. It’s full of great info. http://www.penciltopics.co.uk/

The U.K. Colour Pencil Society. https://www.ukcps.co.uk/ & its American equivalent https://www.cpsa.org/ feature excellent artwork.
    🙂

I also use the Faber Castell Polychromos (and also the FC Albrecht Dürer) and enjoy them.

Polychromos are oil based, Prismacolor are wax based, alone this fact already explain behavior differences. Beside the used pigments.

Btw, the Caran d‘ache Luminance are also wax based.

All 3 are high quality (and therefor expensive) products.
Which one somebody prefer is also depending on the personal preferences.

So is Blackwing actually making those colored pencils or someone else and getting boxed for Blackwing?
0.5mm vs 0.7mm graphite sizes is much like 9mm vs 45acp...they both work if you know what you are doing. - me

Looking for Caran d'Ache Type 55 2mm set and Rotation .7 pencils.

Please let us know how you like them!

I do agree that Prismacolor shows a wax bloom; I still like 'em. I bought a basic set of the oil-based ones and those are also enjoyable, just a different feel and experience.

The El Cheepo sets I got, on the other hand..

I thought my tin contained 120. In fact it’s 132. I bought mine from Amazon several years ago.

Inspired by this thread to use my Polychromos coloured pencils after not using them for several months, I've posted a sketch of fruits and veg in the FP Geeks Art Gallery thread

Another vote here for Polychromos, I chose them over the other ones based on the reviews etc and I've not been disappointed. I need more practice using them though!! 🤣 I'll post in the art gallery thread too

I’m going to end up buying them as well. All the reviews rate polychromatic over prisma. They’re just so much more expensive
