I've barely even heard of a Montblanc Kugel nib. I always thought it was a nib for beginners, to help them to write with a fountain pen, but that a Montblanc 149 is hardly a beginner's pen.
Will a kugel nib with a large ball of tipping write so differently from a regular round nib with a bit less tipping, that it's worth not having the pen for a very long time while you try to find one?

149 only? I have a 1950s celluloid 142, KF nib, fantastic. Needs servicing.
