Default Received old calligraphy pen nib units, what to do with them?

Knowing of my interest in fountain pens, yesterday my friend gave me the stub and music nib units in a box, they belonged to his mother.

The nib units are small, their radii suggest they won't fit in many of my pens. I am not a calligrapher.
Also, the nib units look unclean and likely haven't been used in years.

How are nib units measured for dimensions? I know the width of the nibs have classifications, but how would a calligrapher know which nib units would fit a pen without trying them until one fits? If I wanted to trade nib units, how and where best would I present them after they've been cleaned? Are there defined sizes for calligraphy pens and nibs like there are for paper (A4, B5, legal) and envelopes (#10, monarch)?

Also, is it best I use just water for flushing out the feeds? Should I use a drop of ammonia to approximate 'colonic irrigation' of longstanding dried ink?

Can you post a picture? Are they Osmiroid nibs?
