    Default Pilot cartridge history/dates?

Does anyone know when Pilot switched from the small cartridges to the current type? Also any sources for either carts or converters?

I have a few cartridges, but they're very small and seemingly uber-rare (these are the first ones I've found in almost 20 years of looking, that had a price I was willing to pay).

I'm thinking of seeing if my brother can co-extrude TPU and Polycarbonate on his 3D printer, if he can I ought to be able to make an adapter to use current Pilot carts in the old full sized pens (have never had an early capless in-hand to know how they would fit in that design).

    Sorry I can't help, but I'm intrigued.
How old are these Pilot pens that you have, and what models are they? I'm not sure I've seen any that take small cartridges.

None of my "E" switch fillers that also use "double spare" cartridges (or may use them) have easily accessed date codes so I'm not certain of their ages, though I suspect they're all early to mid 1960s (Pilot nibs all have date codes going back at least as far as the 1930s). However I've seen dated Capless models as late as 1967 that use the small cartridges.

I've seen pictures of Pilot Capless pens from the 1960's that take current Pilot catridges.

There certainly does seem to have been a bit of crossover when pens with both types were being made concurrently.

The "double-spare" cartridges were used up to 1969, according to Bruno Taut: https://estilofilos.blogspot.com/201...ble-spare.html
