    Default Onato Flying Scotsman Pen

This one is on the front burner. I have never owned an Onato product. What are your thoughts?

I like it. Funky, but not like every other cookie cutter pen out there.
I have 2 Onotos and they are well built, good writers.

I don't care for the color one bit, but I have such a fondness for the train line itself, based off of one very memorable trip, that I might give it a thought.

I love the aesthetics of locomotives, but I haven't heard of the Flying Scotsman, what a cool one!

Kudos to Onoto for producing this pen.
I like their interpretation, only (I think) it's missing a sliver of red which can be seen on the real train, which will pop against the green body.

Thank you all! I will see what some others think as well.

The color appeals to me, but I have no experience with the brand. The company seems solid with a somewhat mixed history and I like having another fine British company to look to. They are pricey, but their selection is very nice being somewhat bespoke-ish and not much mass-produced. At least from my limited research. Appealing to a collector.

I bought an Onoto for the celebration of HM's Queen Elizabeth Jubilee, the last one. Numbered pen. Very well presented but to me the price is excessive. The materials are, in my opinion, nothing much. The nib writes but is nothing much either and the filling mechanism is cartridge / converter. I would not spend again my money for today's Onoto. They are living on the laurels of the previous Onoto brand. Pure marketing. I'm a vintage pen fan and this modern editions do not appeal to me. HTH

From another never owned one but kinda want one perspective...

That wouldn't be the representative sample I would choose.

But, if that model has some significance to you - enjoy!

My Onoto was made in about 1920 so I am in not really in a position to render an opinion on Onoto in general, but I like steam engines and I like pens, and would be delighted try this one.
