So glad to see another pen show info. By rights, this sub-forum should be full of activities given that we have 17 pen shows in the US alone all year long.

As one of the organizers of the Dallas Pen Show, I'm curious to know who are behind the other pen shows.

So who is behind the Denver Pen Show?

At that elevation, won't all the fountain pens leak?

Nope. Everyone in Denver use high-flyin' pens, such as this one:

I think you have to swap in leaner jets and and advance your ignition timing and then they should write ok.

I haven't yet had a pen leak due to the altitude here in Colorado, though I haven't climbed a fourteener with one; not something I would worry about here in the Denver metro area.

The Colorado Pen Show is about two weeks away, October 11-13, so:

Join us for a fun day or the entire weekend where you can unabashedly indulge in your love of pens, paper, ink and pen-talk. For more information, please go to our web site, http://www.coloradopenshow.com/. We hope to see you there!

I was just in Denver and used a Franklin-Christoph and a Waterman, and both worked without leaking. The Franklin-Christoph even worked on the airplane without any ill effects. I wrote in my journal at Bear Lake in Rocky Mountain National Park at about 9,400 ft without any leakage.

By the way, the folks at Colorado Pen are really helpful and have a nice selection of inks. It was great to visit with them when visiting Denver. About 10 miles from downtown. It is a little harder to reach by rail.

I bought a really neat bronze American Pen Company fountain pen from Colorado Pen. It has an excellent Schmidt nib and good flow for writing at symposiums.

The Tattered Cover is a great bookstore and has a lot of journals. You can reach it on the 16th Street Mall bus. Judy is a great person to make contact with - so knowledgeable. They don’t have many pens, and no fountain pens. Their selection of journals is impressive.

Zoe Ma Ma is a good Chinese noodle and dumpling house. It is near the train station. If you like traditional Chinese fare, don’t miss it.

    Enjoy Denver.
