Default A New Nibmeister in Town

For those of you who have done business at nibs.com (Classic Fountain Pens) there are/were 3 people who worked on your pens. There was John Mottishaw and his two apprentices, Gena and Jessica. It looks like Gena has left nibs.com after 4 years there and branched out into her own business. I have no idea about her turn-around time or work, but it's nice to have new blood as the original nibmeisters have gotten older. Gena is located in Los Angeles. [Update-- Acoording to a post I read at FPN by AltecGreen, Jessica has also left nibs.com at around the same time.]

I do wonder if John Mottishaw retires will there be someone to take over his business or will it shut down? This has been his 24th year working.

(BTW, I found out about her new site while skimming pictures of the SF Pen Show on Instagram.)

    All the Best.

Wouldn't that count as one? Then there is Jessica, too.

All the current nibmeisters will retire at some point. As long as there are others entering the trade, then we are good. Kudos to John for taking on apprentices and ensuring that the craft endures.

Gena has worked on 5 of my pens - I first met her at the LA Pen show and so far I am happy with everything she has done. Fairly fast turn around - but that will change as more people discover her of course.
