    Default So freakin excited!

I bought a lathe, the workshop has just been finished in a serviceable way and the lathe comes on monday. I cannot wait. Is there anything i should know about setting up a new lathe other than get it as level as possible?

Congrats! Which one did you get?

I'm a newbie to machining. All I can think of is that on mine, there's a process for truing the Jaws on the 3-jaw chuck.

wow. Congrats. Besides leveling, make sure to secure it to a solid base.

Well it's all bolted down, ran it up to top speed and there is no movement in the machine that shouldn't be there. I cleaned it up and it will be ready for lubing up tomorrow when i get home from work. Then i will be in action. So excited.
