    Default Inktober 2019

    Hi Geeks,

as Inktober is approaching, this is the place to publish all your Inktober 2019 input, beginning on 1st of October 2019.

It does not matter if you draw or write something as input for the Inktober challenge, if you follow the official prompt list or an alternative one or if you do not follow any at all.

Here is the official one as reference:

    https://inktober.com/

Goal is to create an input on every single day in October.

Don´t hesitate to try it, and even if you might have to skip some days it should not prevent you from participating this challenge.

It does not matter how advanced your drawing or writing skills are, everybody can participate , what matters is just to have fun with pen and ink.

I’m looking forward to see a lot of Inktober inputs.

This will be a lot of fun again.

I think I might try posting short creative writing/calligraphy during the month. I know I will be traveling the last week of the month, but I have a phone and a notebook!
    I use a fountain pen and a paper planner - paperinkplan.wordpress.com

I might try this for the first time even though I will be in Denver, CO some of the days and I don't know yet if I'm taking a fountain pen (need to read up on the best way to travel by plane with a fountain pen). I was always good at creative writing back in school but it's been a long time since I've done any of that, but it looks fun and looks like it might be interesting.

    OCTOBER 1, 2019

So, I’ve decided to come out and play Inktober. I will endeavor to produce and post a new image every day this month, either calligraphy or drawing or just plain writing, or even scribbling or doodling. On topic or off topic. Can’t guarantee I’ll be able to run the full course but I’ll give it a shot. I haven’t done much drawing or calligraphy for years, but have started getting back to them a little, and I figure that maybe by the end of the month both my calligraphy and my drawing will have improved. I was never great (as in awesome) at either, but I’ve had fun with them, and every now and then something nice managed to come out of my pen.

It's the inscription that appeared inside the band of the One Ring after Gandalf threw it into Bilbo’s fireplace. The hand is very ancient Elvish, but the language is the barbarous tongue of Mordor:

Ash nazg durbatulûk ash nazg gimbatul
Ash nazg thrakatulûk agh burzum-ishi krimpatul

Its English translation is, of course:

One Ring to Rule them all, one Ring to find them
One Ring to bring them all and in the Darkness Bind them

The pen is a 1934 or ’35 Sheaffer Balance with an oblique stub.
The ink is Diamine Rustic Brown.
I also cheated a little, and prettified it slightly in Photoshop.

Thanks for that. At some point during Inktober last year I tried to copy the text onto a ring and found it difficult to work out what some of the characters actually were. Now, I know.

    OCTOBER 2, 2019

This one was a disaster, but I tried to save it anyway. I drew it in pencil, walnut ink with a Macniven and Cameron Waverly nib in a Tachikawa comic nib holder, and De Atramentis Document Black in a Metropolitan. I'd try another one but since the category for today is MINDLESS, I thought this one might qualify, though just barely.
I expect to deviate from the list soon. I'm surprised I haven't already.

    Kudos to everyone who's drawing!

Turns out I use my pen(s) and ink(s) everyday, but I keep putting off "drawing." Hahaha.

Now inspired to try again. Thanks, fpg gang!
