    Default Aussie scratcher...

    Hello from Greendale Victoria, Australia.
I'm pleased to be here and looking forward to interacting / learning.
Essentially I'm a Designer, but with a few other careers under my belt too.
I've recently reintroduced myself to the pleasure of REAL handwriting after too many years punching a keyboard.
    Cheers.

Very generous welcomes, thanks so much. I've recently been rediscovering REAL handwriting with REAL pens (and also REAL drawing on paper), after too many years doing it all digitally.
Yesterday I received in the post from my 101 year old mum, a package of about a dozen old pens. Couple of Watermans, Parkers, Shaeffers etc. All in lovely condition, but needing TLC after many years of non-use.
She was a Headmistress, distinguished with an O.B.E. for services to education. And of course, after her brain, her heart, and her voice (!) her next most important tool was her pen.
Lovely to have these family heirlooms safe in my hands where they'll be treasured and used.

I shall be posting a photo of them all for help in identifying them. Cheers, Jools

I've been practicing my penmanship nightly for a couple of months and have noticed a nice improvement. I use this skill to write letters to family and friends. They appear to enjoy receiving a hand written letter or note.

Here are my little treasures. I'd be very appreciative if someone could identify them for me, mostly the brands are obvious but what about model numbers?

    From left;
Plasticky cheapo ( MS logo ?)
    Osmiroid
    Silver Waterman ?
    Maroon Waterman ?
    Parker Slimfold 585
    Parker 45 ?
    Parker ?
    Dirt cheap ebay Jinhao
Silver Shaeffer* -(love to know what this is because I want to give it to my daughter, but I want to buy another one for myself - so elegant) ? Targa Slim?
    Dark blue Sheaffer ?
Blue Sheaffer (From a cheap but well functioning Calligraphy set)
    Black Scheaffer ?
    Cheeky Rotring ?
Gift boxed Sheaffer Pen and Biro -(miraculously still working!) missing pencil unfortunately ? BTW the box still retains the leaflet, set purchased from Summers of Gravesend, date of sale is 1979.

Very helpful Chrissy, thanks a mill'.
I'd like to I.D. the maroon Waterman in particular because it needs a new sac which I shall replace.
I suppose I could get one of the 'selections' that are on ebay, hoping that one will be the right size.
    Any more I.D. ideas folks?

To be honest with you, this post is in the wrong forum. This is the Welcome to New Members forum, so many members who might be able to make identifications probably aren't in this forum reading threads.
Also, for identification purposes, many pens need pictures showing their complete clips, caps & barrels and/or nibs. I don't know the maroon Waterman from that picture. The top of the cap looks like that on an L2 but the cap band looks thicker. However, for sac replacement, most Waterman lever pens will use the same size sac. So find out what size sacs are sold for Waterman pens and you will probably get the right size.
