    Default Mabie Todd Swan SF200/47

This one turned up last week and I was luckily able to secure it.

As well as being an outstanding beauty, this pen is a real rarity for two reasons. First, SF200s are very uncommon. The bandless version of the 1920s SF allows the pattern to run unbroken from top to bottom.

Secondly, the 47 pattern is uncommon in itself and where it does appear it is almost invariably used on the Leverless. This is the first time I have seen it on a lever pen.

The 47 pattern is called "black and gold mosaic." It includes dark brown and black with cream veins and dusted areas of gold.

    Great pen
    How does it write?
Can you also post writing samples?

Thank you, Chrissy. Pterodactylus: I spent much of yesterday evening restoring it and I haven't got around to testing it yet. I will, shortly, and I'll post a writing sample when I do.

    Thank you, Voiren.

Here's a hasty scribble but it will give an idea of the nib:

Thank you, azkid. The pattern is one of several used by Mabie Todd when colourful Xylonite (celluloid) became available. Many of the patterns are quite rare now and all are striking, none more than this one.
