Awesome! Is it the hard rubber?
That is a gorgeous Montegrappa! I really like that it has a celluloid section rather than sterling silver.
I am a fan of Montegrappa, and that is a stunner. Thanks for sharing, such a tasteful shape and design, and such a rich color.

The second release of the Classica pens was in resin instead of celluloid and came in blue, red and grey. It is a very nice pearlescent material that changes depending on light source.
You can see a comparison of the two versions on this page.

My sole Montegrappa is an Espressione Duetto, which is just magic. What beautiful pens they make. Thanks for pics and the history website link.
Thanks, I really hoped the history website will be useful for folk. The Espressione is an amazing pen and I really was sorry to see it replaced with the new Espressione. The Duetto is a gorgeous version too.

The Historia is just a Classica with the incised cap band and the Sterling silver section. The Classica weighs 33.6g and the Historia weighs 39.2g so slightly heavier than the Classica but not a large difference. Actually the difference between no converter in the pen and the plastic piston knob or the metal piston knob converter could make as large a difference.
