Default So you like Frankepens, eh?

When I'm not restoring a pen to its original spec. (or as close as possible), I love to tinker with pen parts, but I don't simply cobble up those parts haphazardly. In fact I am willing to wait for months for the right parts to come by, or alternative parts that will not look out of place.

So, here's a recent product of my "experimagination".

The blue celluloid is too pretty to leave in the project box, plus the barrel has a strong lever that can pump ink sacs for decades to come. But the top of the cap is marred and corroded to oblivion (it is one of those metal top attached to an equally uninspired clip).

Unrelated, and almost a lucky coincidence, I found a shattered German piston filler cap whose top is intact with its beautiful clip.

So I made a new cap out of the two parts, which involves copious sanding, judicious two-parts epoxy applications, and multi-sessions of strategic clamping

The rest is typical Redeem Pens routine, find a flexible nib, find a feed and section that works, and I got myself a working pen that (in my eyes) doesn't look too shabby. Writing sample coming up.

NOTE: For those who are disturbed by the small size of the nib, feel free to send me a larger one with the same excellent flex quality as this one, and I'll put it on the pen, deal?

No I sadly don't have enough pens to do anything like that. The one thing I do need to do is get ink sacs for 2 of my pens so I can use them. One writes a little too wide for me so it's not as big of a deal but the other is a fine with a pretty flexible nib that I really loved when it was gifted to me. The Everest on the left in the photo is the one I really enjoyed.

    Thanks

LOL! I have been around forums enough that I knew someone will make a comment on that.
