    Default Removing Shimmer from Ink?

Hi, I was hoping to get some advice! I adore the color and sheen of Diamine Jack Frost, and I can't find another ink quite like it. But I dislike using shimmer inks; I just don't find them appealing. Is there a way to remove shimmer from an ink? I know not to shake the bottle so that the shimmer stays at the bottom and thus as little as possible gets in, but that doesn't seem as effective as I'd like.

I suspect decanting the ink and leaving the particles at the bottom of the original bottle is the best way. I thought about using a paper coffee filter cone but fear it would absorb too much ink. Maybe a cut down coffee filter in a small funnel??

One way to achieve this is to get a coffee filter paper and dip it in water to wet it then fit it over a clean glass jug, maybe secure with rubber band around the rim or ensure it won't fall into the jug some other way, and pour the ink through it. You will lose the shimmer plus a bit of ink but should achieve what you want. Then clean out the cap and bottle and pour it back in.

The shimmer particulate settles to the bottom of the bottle if you are willing to wait, and you could even decant to another bottle sans shimmer.

I've had a pair of bottles from Diamine's first shimmer inks, Red Lustre and green Magical Forest, that only come out once each year for writing Christmas cards. Undisturbed for a year, the shimmer particulate settles to the bottom and it takes quite a bit of agitation to redistribute the shimmer into the ink. Next year, I might tape the bottles to the washing machine for a few cycles before use.

Buy non-shimmer ink. Diamine must make the same color under a different name, in they make hundreds of inks.
    Or coffee filter it.
I'd think though the non-shimmer ink would be far cheaper than shimmer ink.

Contact Diamine and ask them what the closest non-shimmer ink would be.

How about Asa Blue? It's probably quite like two difficult to get exclusives: A Night in Jodhpur or Jalur Gemilang

Place it in a bucket with a piece of clothesline attached. Whirl the bucket around over your head like you are going to lasso a stump. Carefully remove the ink and using an eyedropper, pull the ink off, leaving the shimmery bits in the bottom 5 mL or so.

Repeat if desired to get rid of every sparkly bit.

    Something like this
centrifuge but I suspect buying a different ink would be less expensive.
