Default Advice needed: a "dry" ink the color of Montblanc Toffee

Anyone have a recommendation for a dry ink that's the color of Montblanc Toffee? I want to slow the flow in a certain pen before making adjustments. For color comparison, here's an image from the Walnut Ink thread:

Fred, you might want to try a sample of Kaweco Caramel Brown. Chrissy reviewed it and noted it had a dry flow and slightly dry lubrication.

No-one has to go over to the dark side to find my reviews. I also reviewed Kaweco Caramel Brown (and the other Kaweco inks) here on FPGeeks.

It's in the Ink Review Index but here is the Link

KWZ inks tend to be drier - try their 'cappuccino', maybe?

Not cappuccino, but perhaps their Brown No. 4. The Kaweco caramel brown arrived today, so I'll see if that resolves my pen's flow issue.

Just to add to the list: Pelikan Edelstein Smoky Quartz is a dry brown ink.

This is weird. The unopened bottle of Kaweco arrives, and then the Toffee brown starts behaving! The flow is just right.

Two days ago I purchased a new aftermarket heater fan motor and resistor assembly for my Volvo wagon, because there's been no warm air blowing for a couple weeks. So I buy the replacement parts, and then the old heater fan starts blowing!

They're all conspiring against me. That's what it is. Nonetheless, I'm filling another pen with the Kaweco Caramel Brown in spite of the Toffee. And I yanked out the old and installed the new heater fan assembly, too. I'm not gonna let Montblanc and Volvo gang up on me.

Wow! Kaweco is dry! I filled a rather wet flex writer, and the flow was unable to keep up with my writing on a letter being written on Crown Mill. Lots of railroading and running dry until I slowed down. I'm genuinely surprised that Kaweco made that much of a difference in that pen's performance.

UPDATE 2 MONTHS LATER: The ink didn't solve it. A replacement sac did.

I have a vintage Pelikan that behaves that way. Aurora black: literal pools of ink standing off the page. Robert Oster Caffe Crema? Pelikan blue-black? Writes beautifully.

On that note: I find the Robert Oster Caffe Crema to be a great ink, but it might be a little too light for your tastes if you're going for the dark brown of Toffee Brown. From what I recall of the sample, Diamine Saddle Brown is also a not-overly-wet ink.

Wow! This Kaweco Caramel has to be one of the easiest inks to flush that I've used. Just a few squeezes on the lever of my '30s big Balance and tap water runs clear from the feed.

Alas, Caramel didn't quite solve the ink flow issue, so I'll have to make some adjustments to stem the flow.
