Hi All, Thank you for the suggestions, I did think of a CON-20 (CON-W being v. rare) but found the CON-20 is going the same way, I have seen then on the bay for about £18-22. Could I ask David to do those measurements, I have several different cartridge type that maybe could be used, so measurements would be terrific.
Once I have those it is possible that I could convert something.

I did see some suggestions on line but none gave the measurements in any detail. I did see mention of the feed hole being 4.45mm but without the other measurements it does not help to ensure a usable item.

One suggestion is to use a cartridge with an ink sac on top but would agree is I can manufacture a workable cartridge that can be refilled, this would be better.

    thanks all for your assistance.

    Jeremy

There is an ebay.com listing for a Con-20 converter, but shipping to the UK really hikes up the price.

I just spotted this Pilot IC-50 cartridge size converter on ebay.uk
If that open end fits into your Pilot Capless section, then reducing the converter length would not be too difficult.
What you would need to do would be to hook out the plastic connecter with a small crochet hook, remove the sac from it, cut off the metal part and the rubber sac to your required length, then put it all back together and Bob's your uncle.

I hadn't thought of this before, but an appropriate diameter mouth/shim for the Tokyo Russ CON-20 mod. might be made from a section of cartridge body cut from a standard Pilot cart, or some other thin polyethylene tube, like a disposible pipette or the like. No need to find and butcher an original double spare!

I'll post measurements tomorrow, off to bed now...
