Default Pilot Super 150 sac replacment

    Howdy all,

Recently picked up this sweet Pilot Super 150 and am in need of a new sac. The little pink tube at the bottom is what the sac attaches to. The original sac disintegrated but I am thinking that a size 13 should fit inside the sac protector. Can anyone confirm this?

    TIA,

    James

I think I used a 14 in my green one, but it should be easy enough to test fit... just remember that the original Pilot sacs are fit pretty tightly, so use talc to get the new one in if you want to fit the original size, also cut the sac a bit short so that the plunger doesn't hit the top of the sac when you turn the filling lever!

...and don't stress the filling switch, or you'll break the flap off of the delicate little ring that retains the base of the presser bar spring.

When I replaced the sac on my Super 250 , I used a #15 from my Sheaffer Touchdown restore kit (which was a 15 straight, instead of the official 15×21/8 necked).

Though I am not certain if the 250 and 150 differ in size.

The E branded Supers take a larger sac than the Slim pre-E Supers. IIRC the E300 is larger still.

I believe that one of the reasons for Pilot's extremely tight sac fit as the pens came from the factory, was to provide extra support to the extremely thin flap/collar that anchors the base of the presser bar spring.

Makes sense, and good catch on the "E" vs "pre-E".

Thanks for your input. I have a pen friend in japan and he shared with me it takes a 13 and there is a difference in size as you were wondering about.
