Default 7g Solid Gold Wedding Band

    Hello all
Looking to sell a 7g gold wedding band. The short version is that my wife and I split. I thought I might do something sentimental with the band but I can’t bring myself to keep it.

Current gold price is all over the place so I’d like to get $130 shipped for it. The band is completely serviceable but would need to be cleaned and polished. It’s probably worth more as scrap or for a pen maker to use for a clip or cap rings.

Also willing to trade for a pen in the $150-200 price range. Specifically looking for a 1911 Large or Pro Gear Standard (21k nib in Medium or Broad, color doesn’t matter).

Can provide photos and a scale image of you need them.

    Thanks
    Matthew

Three old hunters were walking through the woods one day. One looks over and says, "Windy, isn't it?" Another says, "I thought it was Thursday." The third says, "Me too! The heck with hunting, let's go grab a beer!"

Assuming 7.00g is the exact weight, you still need to specify purity.

The daily gold price is for pure gold and is significantly different to the scrap gold price that you would be given by a bullion dealer. For 7grams of scrap 24ct gold you would be paid $262 at today's rate. That amount will change daily.

As Fred says you need to know the purity of gold that your wedding band is made from. Pure 24ct gold is quite soft so it's not commonly used for wedding bands.

I suggest your best option would be for you to go and get your money for your 7grams of gold then buy the pen that you want.

At the current spot price ($1555.10/troy ounce of 24K gold), 7 grams of 14K gold, the type most commonly used in jewelry, particularly in the US, has a gold content "melt value" of about $204. In my experience, depending on who you sell the ring to, you might get as much as the full melt value (though most dealers won't pay that much) to as little as about $150.

Thanks y’all. Appreciate the clarity. Anyone interested can make me an offer. I live in a really small town and there’s nobody here that buys gold except pawn shops and they are all currently paying a little under $10 a gram.

    It’s 10K gold.

I also live in a small town where gold can't be sold face to face unless directly to a jeweller. We don't have any pawn shops.
Here in the UK we can sell gold by sending it to a gold dealer on the internet.

I always dreamed of a simple yet elegant wedding band. That's why I chosed solid gold wedding band. Its timeless design represents our love perfectly. I also wanted a stunning engagement ring to match, so I looked at the giliarto lavender engagement ring The soft purple hues are beautiful and unique, adding a special touch to our story. From FREE SPAM:
I'm not a big fan of psycho-babble, but I found this article interesting:

Excerpt from "Who are Internet Trolls in Real Life and How to Deal with Them?"
    https://www.learning-mind.com/who-are-internet-trolls/

    Who Are Internet Trolls?

Surprisingly, despite the frequency and amount of internet abuse on social media, there is little to no research about it. However, one study does shed some light on the type of person that will engage in trolling. Although the study was relatively small (only 415 participants), it did throw up some interesting details.

Research suggests that three main factors stand out amongst internet trolls:

    1. Trolls are more likely to be male and score highly on the Dark Triad (psychopathy, narcissism and Machiavellianism) personality test.

    2. Trolls have little affective empathy (they can’t feel the suffering of others) but high cognitive empathy (they can understand what makes people suffer).

    3. Trolls are very likely to suffer from poor social skills.

In other words, trolls have a dark side to their personality. They are also good at working out who is most likely to get upset. This is despite them having no empathy for their victims.

“Trolls employ an empathic strategy of predicting and recognizing the emotional suffering of their victims while abstaining from the experience of these negative emotions.” Sest, et al.

    Two Kinds of Internet Trolls

    The Vindictive Troll

I believe there are two kinds of trolls. The first is the vindictive, nasty types that enjoy the suffering they cause. The second types are loners with poor social skills. These types feel powerful behind the safety of a keyboard.

Further studies confirm the first type, the vindictive troll. Canadian researchers conducted personality tests on over 1,200 people. Participants were asked about their internet behaviour. In particular, in regard to comments they had made online.

Results showed that those people who admitted to enjoying internet trolling also scored highly on the Dark Triad personality tests. Not only that, but they also scored highly on sadism. Sadism is the enjoyment of causing psychological or physical pain to others. Coupled with psychopathy, narcissism and Machiavellism, sadism is certainly another one of the dark sides of our behaviours.
