    Default #14 Esterbrook Bank Nib

Found 7 of these. They arrived today. I tried them out after holding a flame under the tip for a second or two. I was immediately struck with how little pressure was necessary, and how smooth the nib performed.

These are the more available and affordable version of the same nib used by the late cartoonist Charles Shultz Radio 914.

Good for you. I can only just about write with a glass dip pen.

What does the flame under the tip do?

Supposed to remove any contaminants like oil, just something I read.

I've used that Esterbrook Bank nib too. I also use the flame method of getting the oils off my new dip nibs.

Upon the recommendation of a member of another forum, I was able to find the #48 Falcon and #442 Jackson nibs. We shall see.\\

The Bank 14 is a fun nib. I got fed up with dipping so I fitted one to an Esterbrook SJ.

I have a few of these kinds of nib left over from my experiments. For the #442 I have used the #2 Correspondent and for the #48 Falcon the Spencerian #40 Falcon. If you need these kinds of nibs I do have a few.

Ordered 3 from the bay and got 4. Good thing I read about getting rid of the oil. Great for testing new inks.
