I was not that excited at first although I acted grateful and polite. The cap didn't sport the arrow so I assumed wrongly that it was a Hero or some other knock off. When I got home I took it apart and noticed that it indeed was a Parker. After looking it up my best guess is a second generation with the well respected clip.

The pen had a lot of scratches and rust. I used my straight razor restoration tools and substances to remove the rust and make the scratches less evident on the burgundy plastic followed by seeing if the diaphragm would work. The stuff that came out of the pen looked brown and ugly. After several rinses with clean water, I filled it with Waterman black ink. While the nib is a student grade, it began to evolve and become more smooth.

It does leak a bit when capped, but I've grown used to having ink on my second finger.
